Carousel! Tights & OTKs for Days

Happy Monday! Time for another edition of Carousel!
In this edition of Carousel, I’ll talk about my most recent cheap or rare purchases!

0155c83c-cead-52fb-a15f-2e17c31baba1

Alice and the Pirates Twilight Circus OTKs – $11

I had been watching this pair of OTKs for a short time on lacemarket but was on the fence about it. To my surprise, the seller lowered the price once more and I immediately had to get them. No staining and in overall good condition, I can’t wait to wear them!

5613cc12-7d53-510e-8fd9-18d03cbef514

Afternoon Nap Gymnasium OTKs – $27

These tights are brand new! Generally retailing for around $30, it’s not a massive steal but considering this is a special pair of OTKs with guest artist Mitsukazu Mihara, it was very hard to pass up such a beautiful design for less than $30. The print is gorgeous in person!

Banana Fish Trump JSK – $20

Full velvet JSK! There’s a few loose threads here and there but it’s absolutely beautiful in person! Wunderwelt sometimes sells unpopular or heavily damaged items separately on Lacemarket, away from its main website. The items are usually severely discounted much like this JSK!

It matches my Alice and the Pirates cardigans so perfectly! I’m really excited to plan a coordinate with them all!

Oyasumi Pooh-Chan Denim Bag – $15

Normally retails for around $32 on Tokyo Otaku Mode so this is essentially half off! My friend recently bought herself one of these bags in the pleather version and I’m very interested in twinning with her! Likewise, I’m planning a Lolita panel for Tora Con 2018 in the future where I’ll give out Lolita items during a giveaway and this might just make the cut. Either way, regardless of whether or not I keep it or give it away, the price was more than reasonable!

Angelic Pretty

Astro Regimen Tights – $15

Now this, I am absolutely proud of! Astro Regimen is a print that comes in and out of popularity but the tights are very hard to find. Most of them selling have re-sold for around $40-$45 so when I saw these brand new in the packaging for only$15, it was an instant buy. I have to say though that these are my absolute favorite pair of lolita tights now. I’m not too tall for them and the wine color with the navy print makes for a great silhouette. ;v;

That’s it for this week’s Carousel! entry. What do you think of the stuff I found? Do any of them not seem worth it? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading! Until next week!

Lolita Desu Accessory Haul

I recently placed two orders with Lolita Desu again, a favorite website of mine for secondhand lolita goods. (You can read two of my reviews here & here)

They recently announced an accessory sale on their website. Up to 25% off depending on the amount of accessories.

“5% for 2 accessories

10% for 3

15% for 4

20% for 5

25%  for 6″

I had quite a few accessories I had been debating buying for a while so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get them! I put enough in my cart to qualify for the free shipping.

I totaled 9 items:

1 × “Girl’s Orchestra Kanaria, Accordion” (Balloon Girl with Harmonica) Postcard from Imai Kira

1 × “Girl’s Orchestra Kanaria, Accordion” (Balloon Girl with Harmonica) Postcard from Imai Kira

1 × Circus Neon OTK Socks in White from Angelic Pretty
1 × [革命] (Revolution) 2-way pin in Pink from 6% DOKIDOKI
1 × Circus Neon (Star Night Theater) OTKs in Red from Angelic Pretty
1 × Masquerade Hatpin in Black from Enchantlic Enchantilly
1 × Chocolate Cookie Cream Ring in Brown from Pastel Skies

1 × Party Clip Coffin Barrette in Black from SWIMMER (C)

Total: $152.50
Discount: -$32.13
Grand Total:$120.37

The Fake Sweets Bible is a magazine people have been talking about lately because it comes with a mold to make your own lolita jewelry complete with full tutorials!
Shortly after, they posted a bonnet by Vierge Vampur. VV is a brand I’ve recently found myself being deeply interested due to the brightly colored dark themed (often circus themed) dresses and accessories she makes, so seeing this come up, I had to immediately buy it. Lolita Desu has this point system called Fuwa Fuwa points, which gives you coupon points proportional to the money you spend on the site. I exchanged my Fuwa Fuwa points for a $35 off coupon and ordered the bonnet & brooch from SWIMMER. The accessories sale was still in effect as well!

Enchantlic Enchantilly continues to be my favorite go-to for lolita accessories and so I had my eyes on this hat pin for a while. I love the mask design and the detail of the gem.

The Neon Circus OTKs have to be the most comfortable brand OTKs I’ve ever had. I have thick calves and these actually stretches all the way above my knees without scrunching or being too tight! Lolita Desu also was way too generous on describing the damages. I couldn’t find any of the issues or staining mentioned, it’s like they’re in new condition!

The SWIMMER brooch is as described. There is some fading that was mentioned in the damages in regard to it being “C” grade, but that doesn’t matter much to me. It’s barely noticeable. The ring goes nicely with my newly acquired Cream Cookie Parade Skirt from Angelic Pretty. I’ve been dying to own something from 6%DOKIDOKI, specifically this brooch! But every time I saw it, it was really expensive. Here it was not only affordable and on sale but in a color I really really like.

Beautiful color & glitter!

Free candy! 😀

Second package with VV bonnet:

Absolutely well-packaged again.

This SWIMMER brooch is really lovely. It’s emboried felt with beads!

img_7353

This is a very interesting bonnet! I really like the black & ivory striped bow on the back. It’s a lot flatter than I thought it would be but I think it helps the crown design show more.

Striped ribbon back

Lovely note, candy, and another sticker

Bonnet on!

What a great sale! Some of the items I got retail at much greater prices so I was more than happy to buy. The Fuwa Fuwa Points also ended up being extremely helpful and goes to show how much being a loyal customer to the site ends up paying off on future purchases. Without the Fuwa Fuwa points, I couldn’t have made the order and would have missed out of this beautiful unique bonnet.

Overall, Lolita Desu never disappoints me with their well-stocked store and variety. Their sales are so hard to resist, I had to order twice! ><

Thanks for reading! Til next time!

Wunderwelt Review & Haul

Happy Sunday! Today, I will be doing a review of the website Wunderwelt!

Wunderwelt is a Japanese company that specializes in selling/buying secondhand lolita items, as well as being an official seller for various official and indie lolita brands. There was a few items I had been eyeing on the site more recently so I decided to go through with the order and see!

I ordered 5 items (technically 8 but some were sets):

20170529逕サ蜒十w-25226-00

Alice and the Pirates Wooden Sole Shoes

 ¥4,990

20170310逕サ蜒・w-22678-00

¥31,488
20170527逕サ蜒・w-25170-00

Prince Kokoro Gymnasium Ribbon Charms I, II, & III
¥8,890
20170314逕サ蜒・w-22789-00

Innocent World Midnight Merry-Go-Round JSk in Navy & Gold
¥14,389
wzdmapyf

Enchantlic Enchantilly Dolled up Ring – Crown (Queen)
¥1,800

Total: ¥61,057 + ¥900 shipping

Why I chose some of these items:

The Prince Kokoro ribbons had sold out during their reservation period this year and were priced 3400-3700 yen each respectively so seeing them all in a bundle like this at a reasonable price was hard to pass up.

With the wooden shoes, I’ve wanted to test out my foot sizing with Aatp more recently so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to add a nice staple to my wardrobe, while also seeing if I should resume ordering LL or L sizes in the future.

Eternal Dream Starlight Parade has been on my wishlist for a while but I was mostly into the Navy & Red colorway of it until I saw pictures of it being worn. Seeing the worn pictures, I wasn’t sure about the color anymore but still being in love with the cut, decided to try for green with this order. The best part is that the wunderwelt listed also included the matching bonnet for a completed set.

Midnight Merry-Go-Round was also on my wishlist but on the back-burner. With it being sold out on Innocent World’s website, I thought now would be the perfect time.

This ring is actually the only auction I’ve ever lost on lacemarket so far. So when I saw it was selling new on Wunderwelt’s Fleur website for a comparable price to the one in the auction, I had to add it to my shopping cart.

After ordering:

Wunderwelt has this cool promotion for international buyers. 5000 yen off all overs over 50000 which can be a lot, but in my particular instance, buying two dresses and a pair of shoes, it came as a lifesavers. What would have been 5900 yen in shipping costs, was reduced to a mere 900 yen.

Order placed on: 06/10/17

Shipping estimate received on: 06/12/17

Order shipped by EMS on: 06/14/17

Order received: 06/17/17

Overall I’m very impressed with how fast everything went! Around a full week turnaround in regards to ordering, getting the confirmation, and then actually having my items in hand.

Opening:

The box was reasonably sized and well packaged to keep everything from being damaged during transport.

img_6362img_6363

img_6364

The shoes were discounted the way they were because of the various scuffs but my lolita secret is Mr. Clean Magic Erasers! I little water & buffing and I was able to remove all the scuffs like brand new. Absolutely worth it.

The ring is brand new and so lovely, it’s perfect. The bows are in wonderful condition, I especially like the detailing in the ribbon.

img_6376

The Midnight Merry-Go-Round also arrived in wonderful condition.

As for Eternal Starlight, this dress is absolutely gorgeous. I didn’t realize that the fabric had built in glitter & shine. I was really hesitant about the color because green is just not normally a color I wear but I love the silky emerald of this dress.

Overall, I can fully recommend Wunderwelt as a solid resource for lolita secondhand & new items. The prices are competitive, the item conditions are thoroughly described, and the turn around is very quick. At the time of this writing, I’m already looking forward to my next order!

Until next time!

The One That Got Away

Happy Sunday!

This past week has been incredibly busy for me. I just left a bad apartment situation and settled down into a brand new apartment! So this week, I’ll talk regretfully about the ones that got away!

When life happens (like moving for example) it can make it hard to focus on lolita, especially if funds are tied up on more important priorities. It especially can be devastating if a dream item happens to appear in the wrong place and at the wrong time.

There are several dream items I have as a list of things I would eventually like to collect. My overall goal as a lolita is not to be sweet, gothic, or classic but rather theme based. My desired theme is “Circus lolita” and whatever prints, accessories, or items may fall under that category. Sticking with this theme has helped me target my spending on prints & accessories I only truly want so I don’t end up growing my wardrobe into something that is unmanageable or filled with dresses I don’t actually want. With that being said, it’s a bit of a challenge because there is now a small category of items to pick from and within that, an even smaller collection of items I actually like.

So onto my first misses!

Alice and the Pirates Memorial Ticket Necklace

9370f873-6644-596d-bfee-67ba0683512e

I’m very devastated that I missed this one. I was awake late at night and saw when it was first posted but with my move, I was uncertain whether or not I could commit the funds. I debated and debated and by morning at work when I finally decided to just go through with it, it was gone to someone else. There’s no telling when I’ll ever come across it again. For a positive, it did motivate me to think about some personal ideas for accessories.

Alice and the Pirates Electric Circus JSK I

electric circus black jsk

For more expensive prints, I tend to do payment plans and when I saw this, I immediately asked for a payment plan. Unfortunately the down-payment was much larger than what I’m used to so I had to wait but by my next paycheck, it was deleted with no telling how much it actually sold for.

Angelic Pretty’s Melty Chocolate Shoes

melty chocolate

Definitely been eyeing these shoes in L for a while. Every time I’ve seen it pop up on Lacemarket, I can’t put down the money. And it still pops up occasionally but never in my size.

Innocent World Carousel Bag

image

I eyed this one for days. I asked my friend to loan me the money until my next paycheck so I could purchase it and when she agreed, I was so ecstatic! That feeling suddenly turned to terror when I checked the listing only for it to immediately be purchased by someone else! Fortunately my friend mistook what I said and was the one who bought it! Definitely put me into a brief panic but it worked out in the end and I have this lovely staple in my wardrobe now. 🙂

Overall, it can be hard to determine the timing of when to buy something. Lolita is a collection based hobby and everything made within it is available at a finite quantity. There will always be debate over when is the “right” time to buy something and when something is “rare” it can be even harder to find good affordable deals. I try to find a nice balance between good prices and good timing but I still make mistakes over underestimating how much I truly like something or how unique it is. As I continue on my lolita path, I’m sure I’ll figure out how to get better at it! 🙂

Until next time!

Carousel! Angelic Pretty for $5?

Heyo! Happy Sunday!

Before my blog restart, I had written two haul posts about recent purchases that I either thrifted or found on sale. In the spirit of reorganizing, I’ve decided to name these posts: Carousel! Shopping often and affordably can always feel like a merry-go-round so I thought it was an appropriate title!

All posts marked with this will talk about recent cool finds (and deals) I’ve purchased recently be it online or in a store and how much I spent on each item.

I play my 3DS pretty often and have been dying to upgrade to a New 3DS XL for a while and this case might finally be the thing that pushes me to do so ❤

Almost all of the dishware I own is thrifted/vintage so what I really like is collecting unique pieces of dishware. This bowl is an absolute joy to have and it matches several of the cups I already own.

As soon as I saw these, I had to buy them! I think they would look perfect as an accessory for some circus-themed lolita coordinates. I personally already have a mid-sized pin collection and these make a nice addition to my button collection.

Now this has to be one of the proudest purchases I’ve ever made! Angelic Pretty shoes that I can easily repair? Absolutely!

Lolita accessories set with headbows, bow and Metamorphose collar$10

IMG_2191

Source: Sunburndoll on egl circcly

This was a really good set and I was particularly eyeing the the Metamorphose collar. I even made a nice outfit with it already~

Final Round

Ultimately there was a lot of lacemarket stalking & etsy browsing done to find these but I’m super glad about all of them. The collar set and Angelic Pretty shoes were found thanks to the price organizer on lacemarket by allowing me to arrange listings in order from lowest price and just browse through.
The catch of the Angelic Pretty shoes being $5 resulted in the damages to the shoes. There are some scratches here and there and the heels are pulling out of the cork and as a result, the price reflects this. It’s important to be wary about damages regarding anything bought and ensuring that the price always reflects this. To me, whether or not I could repair them does not remove the value from them still being wearable as-is and that was something I definitely took into consideration.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this Carousel tidbit! ‘Til next week!

Lolita Desu Lucky Pack 2017!

For those who may be unaware, Lolita Desu is a secondhand (and sometimes new) lolita-based store located in Saitama, Japan. You can read my previous review of them here.

They released their new lucky packs for 2017 and I thought I’d try my luck with them again!

This time I ordered two lucky packs, the “Royally Sweet Like Alice” Lolita Lucky Pack & the “Cute Spring Home” Luck Pack.

Here are the basics of the product descriptions:

“Royally Sweet Like Alice” Lolita Lucky Pack (B~C Condition, 6 + 1 items):

Original print skirt from Baby, the Stars Shine Bright.
Blouse from Angelic Pretty.
Parka from Angelic Pretty.
Original print headbow from Baby, the Stars Shine Bright.
High Knee Socks from Angelic Pretty.
Necklace from SWIMMER
FREEBIE:
Ribbon Brooch Bow, most likely from Angelic Pretty, originally part of another garment.
“Cute Spring Home ” Lucky Pack (A~B Condition, 10 items):

1 note pad from Swimmer.
1 Toilet brush Chocoholic.
1 glue stick from Chocoholic.
1 pen from Chocoholic.
1 cake fork from Swimmer.
1 photo album from Chocoholic.
1 gift envelope set from Swimmer.
1 plate from Chocoholic.
1 cute interior sheet from Chocoholic)
1 kids alpacasso from Amuse.

Okay so I placed my order on 02/16/17.
It shipped on 02/20/2017 and I received it on 02/24/17.
My total came out to $160 for both packs.

Because I ordered over $150 worth, my order qualified for free shipping!

Arrival & Opening!

Let’s talk about the Cute Spring Home pack first since it has the most items.

Definitely a solid pack! I really liked that the entire pack seemed to fit the theme very well.
The plate presently sits nicely in my kitchen in case of cake-time.
The photo-album is great for storing instax mini photos I’ve taken of me and my friends.

I actually used the Chocoholic interior sheet to decorate my work desk where I make crafts!

So onto the clothes with the Royally Sweet Like Alice lucky pack.

I think it’s pretty amazing!
A very minor complaint is that while I knew the main color was going to be pink, I didn’t expect this much pink. I greatly would have preferred a smidge more variety among the basics like the blouse or parka.

Loving the Alice necklace and the socks!

The blouse unfortunately does not fit me. While my bust & waist measurements were correct to what was listed on the website, without the shoulder & arm measurements, I was unable to predict it being too tight on my body. However, I am in the process of becoming more physically fit so who knows, with time maybe it will!

But my favorite item out of the entire set is the skirt!

Okay this skirt, I ADORE this skirt. I’m actually surprised with myself regarding how much I like it.

Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Alice and the Seven Keys Print Skirt

It’s crazy to think that this skirt is 11 years old. It’s from 2006 and has a nice bustle in the back. I adore the dark pink roses on the soft pink print.

It’s also been a challenge to find any images of a coordinate featuring this skirt so I’m motivated to pull together something nice highlighting it.

Besides the two lucky packs, I also ordered a SWIMMER watch.

I’ve wanted this watch for a while and was very happy to see it in stock!

They also gave me a nice surprise! Despite missing the deadline, they generously included me in their special Valentine’s special with a surprise Chocolate Towel! And of course, another sweet candy.

Overall, a great order again. Lolita Desu’s lucky packs are always a wonderfully pleasant surprise and I often end up getting nice pieces that I would not have considered on my own otherwise. I’m really looking forward to my next one!

Lolita Desu Lucky Pack 2015!

Hello everyone! Tiffany here with another haul update!

For the year of 2015, one of my goals has been to get more into lolita and fairy kei fashions, But for lolita especially, that can be especially expensive. So one thing that people normally do is buy Lucky Packs! Lucky Packs are a random assortment of items that you pay for worth a certain value. They are usually released during New Year’s because that’s a huge holiday in Japan! So this past holiday season, I decided to try my hand at a lucky pack and order from the website lolitadesu.com! Lolita Desu specializes in second hand, and sometimes new, items direct from Japan. Because of this, there’s an interesting assortment. For things secondhand, it’s normally listed as to what damage exists, if there is any.

So let’s get started!

I placed my order on Jan. 6th, 2015 and received it January 12.

I ordered 1 Fairy Kei Accessory Set Lucky Pack (Type B) and 1 Fairy Kei/Casual Sweet Lolita Cutsew Set Lucky Pack (Type A). The type B pack was $30 and the type A pack was $55. With EMS shipping, my total came to $105.

The description of each are as follows:

Type B:

1 x Necklace (Most likely Nile Perch or handmade, used – Colorful and cute ♡) ~
1 x Mask (SWIMMER, new and still in plastic – magical, colorful and cute ♡) ~
1 x Ankle Socks (Angelic Pretty, used) ~
1 x Fingerless Gloves (Offbrand, new) ~
1 x Necklace (Handmade, new – sweet and colorful ♡) ~

Type A:

1 x Ring (Angelic Pretty, used – Ready to eat and adjustable size ♡) ~
2 x Hairclip (Unknown/No brand, used) ~
1 x Novelty item (SWIMMER, new) ~
1 x Long Sleeved Cutsew (Angelic Pretty, used – Minty, glittery and cute ♡) ~
1 x Necklace (Most likely Angelic Pretty, but might be another one of the big brands, used) ~
1 x 2-way Hairclip (Chocomint, used – Fluffy and minty ♡) ~
1 x Plastic Ring (Angelic Pretty, used – Cute and glittery ♡) ~”

Okay then on to pictures!

Another winner, a carousel necklace, I love every part of it!

IMG_1889  IMG_1887

The Angelic Pretty cutsew! Very soft and a nice pair with everything else I got!

All in all, I was extremely satisfied, every item was accounted for! I got a lot of namebrand items and new unused items for the fair price!

I’ve already made another order from them, I think they’re definitely a source to look to when you want namebrand goods for a good cost. The only downside would be the shipping costs but that’s expected from the distance. My advice would be to make sure whatever you’re ordering is worth the cost in total rather than each individual item or else the shipping costs will definitely trip you up when it comes to value.

Anyway, that’s it for now! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear my cute items!

‘Til next time!
